I've always figured that being a mom would be hard, busy, and all-consuming. He's only 15 months and he takes all of the time I think I have in the day. It seems to me that the only "me" time I tend to get is between 10pm and 1am. Thankfully, his body has agreed upon our mutually accepted sleeping schedule: I sleep from 1am to 9am and he sleeps from 9pm to 9am.
But even with this glorious schedule, it seems hard to get little projects done. This project is super simple but just adds a little personal flair to the mundane.

So I've decided that during this short nap time of my little one's to start AND finish a quick flourish for these plain Jane canisters.
I have lots of vinyl in my stash of craft supplies, so I figured a simple letter upon each container would spice them up just enough to notice.
This is a quick and easy tutorial for a super simple project using your Silhouette Cameo!

- Open a new project in the Silhouette Studio and adjust the size of the workspace to 4inX4in, which is the size of the blank, flat space on the side of the canister.
- Choose the font you would like to use (I chose DeliusSwashCaps) and adjust the size of the letters to fit within the workspace.
- Once the letters are perfectly sized, change the size of the workspace to be the same size as the piece of vinyl you have. (I ended up using two pieces of vinyl so I cut twice). But the normal size of a new sheet of vinyl is 12inX12in.

- Adjust the cut settings to be set for vinyl, and make sure to change the blade to 2. - Cut! They are sort of hard to see, but successfully cut! - Peel the letters away from the backing and place on the canisters. (I normally use transfer paper, but I didn't want to waste it on just one letter, so I used free hand.) |
And there you have it. Slightly embellished canisters to liven up your kitchen counter!
